To choose a flexible shaft

 

  • Torque
    The torque is to be calculated as of follow :
    C =(716200 x P)/N

    P=(C x N)/71620

    A motor of 2CV at 8000 R.P.M

    C=(716200 x 2)/8000=179 Ncm

    Shaft with 200 Ncm torque at 8000 R.P.M

    P=(200 x 8000)/716200=2.2HP

    Power increases at the rotation speed of shaft increases.

  • Backlash
    Insufficient radius increases heating and decreases power transmition. The radius therefore has to be 25 times the diameter of the cable.

  • Direction of rotation

    Our flexible shaft are supplied for right-hand rotation.

    -On request, they can be supplied for left-hand rotation.

    -For clockwise rotation a right-hand shaft is used, for anti-clockwise rotations a left-hand one.

    -Special shafts can also be used for both directions of rotation. Fo such needs, they have to be oversized.

  • Condition of use

    It is important to take into account the way the flexible is used. The inertia can influence the size diameter size.
